I've seen "Saleen" Mustangs that were nothing more than GT Mustangs with a bodykit, intake, exhaust and upgraded suspension. Then again, I've also seen the same era Saleen Mustangs with blowers, huge brake / wheel kits, and full rollcages.
Given that the guy in this story had a huge (when I think huge, I think taking up 1/3 to 1/2 of a rear window) sticker in white, against his black car and shiny exhaust... I'd bet that he was closer to the first type of Saleen, than the second.
None the less, it always sucks to miss a shift.![]()

Are you sure you missed it?You sure you weren't spinning your clutch? (ie, your clutch is going)? Because before I did my clutch, 3rd/4th would get to a certain RPM and then the rpm's would jump because the clutch was failing....
Anyway, 12 psi on a SR is nice--don't let those damn mustangs fOck with you....Good job!

My trans is so wrecked right now, that when stopped at a light, it grinds some of the time going into 1st, . The syncro is shot, and the teeth on the gear have definitely seen better days. I blame it on the guy who owned the drivetrain before me, in Japan... yeah, that's the ticket... pass the buck to the previous owner.![]()
