S13 turbo low on boost

Hi guys just installed new t25 on my s13, minimal
Shaft play, all pipes connected and vacuum lines
Are all tight including factory intercooler.
However whilst driving turbo is very low on boost
Almost feels like its trying to kick in but theirs
Some sort of restriction.. Could it be the factory Ic?
any advice would be appreciated???

Check the exhuast gasket, make sure the bolts are all tight. Did u replace the gasket with the turbo? I have had the gasket blow out shortly after swapping turbos and leaving the gasket alone.

Good point I have had a slight few drops of water from the exhaust where it joins the elbow I did replace new gasket, perhaps that could be the cause myt try and seal it with gasket sealant?

It would be pre-turbo if you had an issue. Either the turbo to manifold gasket, or the manifold to head gaskets.

Thanks, ill have a look at the gaskets theirs no sign of any leaks but can hear some rattel very slightly from turbo side whilst reving it maybe the gaskets need tp be sealed up again!!!

Alright, took off intake pipe to turbo and shaft has play also makes whining sound if reved, strange, because before it went on their was minimal shaft play in the turbo itself, turbo has been lying around for a few months before it went on could it possibly be bearings??? Any ideas on this folks? The car had been running without the turbo for 5yrs before I purchased it the old turbo was knackered and disconnected, I installed 2nd hand t25 when I took it out the turbo almost kicked in then made a funny knock sound once whenever revs but no power, now it seems shaft play has gotten worse???

Get your turbocharger refreshened or get a new unit. When some of you guys buy these used engines, you think these turbos are going to perform for you like when they are new and they just cannot because they are older than most of you and worn (just like the engine).
