ok went to go and get cap and rotor today from bond auto today (got plugs already, ngk and have wires coming after i get back from north carolina) and i took off my old cap to see if its mitsubishi or hitachi and it didnt say anything about what kind it was, same with rotor, how exactly do you find out?

I found out through trial and error. Got the wrong one, went back in Simmsled's Alty and got the right one. Runs like a champ! Don't forget to do an o2 sensor as well. You'll be glad you did if your old one was fouled. Grab a couple of cans of Sea Foam too.

SOHC engine?

mitsubishi type rotor= has a screw that u secure it to the distributor (~8mm or was it 10?)

hitatchi rotor=u just pull the rotor off the dist & push the replacement on

ok that helps because the rotor had a screw to secure it, so the rotor being mitsubishi means that they probibly matched it with a mitsu cap. thanks for all the help!!

as for o2 sensor and sea foam, i did plan on doing them both, sea foam before everything else so that when i replace the 02 sensor i dont dirty it up right off.
