Glad I recently did my trunk light in all LED's...cause its always on now. Battery hasn't drained despite me finding out a little on the late side. Its like the switch that tells the car to turn off the light when the hatch is closed is broken...but where is it? I cant find it and need to know what to do. For now, I have just unplugged my light box, but can anyone tell me how to fix this or actually just where to find the switch that kills the trunk light? I searched but got nuthin.

probably the switch. its a physical switch. the door closing shuts the switch. the switch has to be situated so that when door closes switch is affected. might be connected to latch not sure

Was the trunk light working and shutting off before? Did you do anything to the trunk switch?

Honestly it sounds like something you did when wiring. You might have tapped into a constant.

You probably did tap into a constant. If that's the case, you could add a switch somewhere near the light ..something like a toggle switch..

most door switches have constant 12v+ . ground is controlled by the switch. why would tapping into a constant cause the light to be on constantly?

Maybe your trunk is not closing tightly enough to flip the swtich.

Try pushing down on it and see if that makes the light go off.
