S13 transmission??'s

Will a 5-speed transmission from a 1996 S14 fit in a 1993 S13??Also does anyone know how to tell from the VIN or Engine bay plates if a s13 has a LSD? I was told to look for an X on the transmission codes?? Thanks.

yes i was going to do this into my 93, but then someone had told me that the ecu is different??????? not sure about this one, but definitely check into that. as far as bolt on, yes it does bolt on.

yea, i guess the 96 has the OBDII ECU. But guess the transmission is the same. Thanks.

you can use the transmission without any problems.

use your S13 speedsensor however.

Thanks, I found a 96 5speed w/ only 32,000 miles at a Junk yard w/ front end damage. Mine has been grinding pretty bad. Can I use my S13 clutch and flywheel on the S14 transmission?

any one thought of a 280zx t5? will it fit i know its a lot lighter and its a 2 piece easier to put in

trannys from the s13 -14 are the same except yes the speed sensor. the long blocks aswell. if you ever decide to get a new motor from a s14 switch the manifolds(intake-exhaust) dist,coil pack,ecu,harness,egr/emissions stuff. and put it on the s14 long block and everything will be plug and play.
