s13 transmission swap to a 96 s14....is is possible?

i have a 1996 240 and the transmission is shot but i am having problems finding a 95 96 transmission for it.......Will a s13 transmission bolt up to it?If there is any modifications that has to be done to make it fit please let me know.this is my daily driver and i am planning on swapping a sr20 into it's bay but i need to get it going for now though.

it should work with no problem. all the ka trannys bolt up from what i've neen told, i hace 93 ka transmission on my 97 s14.

the only problem there will be is that your check engine light might stay on because of a sensor that is on the 95+ trans that the others dont but if you dont have any probelms then you should be great the sensor i think it is crank angle sensor but im not sure correct me if i am wrong....

yes you can use the s13 transmission on a 96. I did that. Mine is from 91. If your car is a 96 the CAS sensor doesnt matter. I did mine without it and my car works perfect. I also have not thrown any codes as my check engine light is not on.

There's a CAS in the transmission housing on the s14's? That doesn't sound right to me. I know the s13's and s14's have a CAS wheel in the dizzy. I'd be curious about the sensor as I have a friend that wants to do the same thing to his s14.

95 and 96 dont need the CAS sensor on the transmission. I know that for a fact as i have done it on mine. I used a s13 transmission. The 240sx had a engine and transmission overhaul in either 97 or 98 not sure. But a s13 will work perfecty fine in a s14 that is 96 or 95. I dont even throw any codes.

yES.. s14 has more sensor on them unlike the s13.. but all and all they will work together..
