I found a swap kit for my car from a guy locally. I just bought my car yesterday night, its an auto and now I want to swap to the manual. Ive serched all the posts but to no avail. My question is this...

Can I use an S13 manual transmission in my S14. Its a 96. If I can what needs to be altered. The swap info just says (you can try to use an S13 transmission) so I am really in the dark with this car.

My second question

My car came with either Z32 brakes or R32 brakes. Not sure. I used to have a Z32 and dont remember the caliper being that big. There is also no Nissan embossed on the side of it either. Any help here?

measure how thick and the diameter of the rotors.

the s14 will want a sensor at the top of the bellhousing. you'll need either to pop that sensor in or you put a resistor there.

I read something about the carrier bearing being on the back half in the s13 and on the front half of the s14. Is this correct, can I still use it? What about the other stuff. Like clutch master cylinder.

Everything should work, although you will have to install a crank angle sensor onto the transmission, and there may be a few other sensors.

I feel like such an idiot asking these questions I know they have been covered before. I just couldnt find them. Well I gave a deposit to a man who knows how to get things. Im getting a wrecked S14 5spd for 500 to 600. So I feel better this way because then I get everything I will need including the ECM. Thanks guys.

Z32 rotors are 30mm thick and the diameter is 280mm

BNR32 brakes are 32mm thick and the diameter is 296mm

as for using the S13 transmission on the S14, it is possible to do that. i dunno if american 240's are the same but my friends using a S13 transmission on his 96 240, and the cas sensor isnt located on the transmission bellhousing. and everything works fine.

Just for some clarification you do NOT need a crank angle sensor on the s13 transmission or put a resistor anywhere. I did my manual swap on my 96 using an s13 transmission and it worked fine, no CAS and all. I think s14's got CAS's in 97 iirc.

all 240s have CAS (crank angle sensor) the S13 one was located in the distributor, im guessing 95's and 96's were too. but in the manual write up thread, it shows a kouki S14 97 98, so im guessing they have their CAS on the transmission bellhousing. or maybe just 98's since i heard there are some differences in the KA's

correct me if im wrongg
