Stop spreading wrong information. I broke my sensor putting my transmission back into my '95, so I removed the sensor. I didn't jumper any connections. The car ran fine, I got 32 mpg on the highway, but there was a CEL. Per the FSM (page EC-167 trouble diagnosis for DTC 82), the CAS on the bellhousing is only used for onboard diagnosis of misfire, not to directly control the engine system.Doya wrote: There has been a bunch of people saying that the CAS is for diagnosis purposes only, but thats wrong. I just finished my 5 speed swap in my s14 with a s13 trans. Your car WILL NOT run with out it. Trust me, I learned the hard way
32mpg... 240's that came with 5 speeds from the factory didn't even get that good of gas mileage. I was just going by my personal experience. I had to take my transmission back off and drill the hole for the CAS for it to start. It didn't start without it.nissanman04 wrote:

How do you know? Did you drive one? No, that would be impossible since you are 16 years old. EPA ratings are useless, especially before they updated the process a few years ago. On long highway trips, it consistently got over 30 mpg.Doya wrote:32mpg... 240's that came with 5 speeds from the factory didn't even get that good of gas mileage. My bad, I just never thought you could get 30+mpg in a 240.nissanman04 wrote:

That's really weird that your car wouldn't start w/o the sensor.
I did the exact same thing to my 97 when it still had the ka, the car cranked, ran, and drove fine it just had a cel, the d**n sensor was $40 though.nissanman04 wrote:

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures. Me and my cousin just went to work and didn't stop until we got it done. It took us about 1 1/2 days( we're both pretty fast workers ). We made sure that we had everything ready, all of the stuff that we needed so there wasn't any time wasted going out to parts.Lonismos14 wrote:doya got any pics of the swap would like to see. Im doing mine in january.
If you go to the driver's side of the engine bay, and look on top of the bellhousing, you'll see it. It has a metal cover held on by a 10mm bolt.Nonsense wrote:Whats a CAS even look like i cant find a picture of one.
