Did your motorset not come with the lower harness? The lower harness is the part with the transmission sensors and starter and alternator on it.

If it comes to it, you could to the Lower Harness wiring yourself its really easy.

Youll need to swap one plug from the SR Harness for the starter and either drill out or cut and spread open the Alternator ring connector to allow it to fit over the bigger diameter bolt on the S14 SR Alternator.

I did all the wiring for the S14 SR to S13 Chassis myself and its not really all that hard. Just hours and hours of research in the S14 FSM.

CoupedUp I was wondering which set of ignition relays you used when you did your swap? The S13 chasis set or the S14 engine harness set? I have an S14 SR in my 89 hatch and really need to get it runing. Those relays are the only thing holding me back.

Any info would be very very appreciated.

You need to use the two relays on the S14 harness, when you cut and seperate the Power Interfaces from the KA Engine harness and add it into the S14 SR Engine harness it would make it much simpler to wire in the S14 relays to the ECCS power wires of the S13 KA Harness.

That does make sense. I'll work on it and if I run into problems I'll give ya a holler.

Ok This is embarrasing but I dont remember where the ECCS relay is located. And what about the S13 relays? Surely they cant be left plugged in? Do all I need to do is get 12V switched power to those two sr relays? Please briefly explain how you wired yours up. I have every single wire labeled that needs to be used to get it to run. It took me an hour to get my redtop wired up but this one got me scratchin my head.

Thanks.

Hey sorry, basically on the S14 SR Wiring Harness there are 3 Wires on the big white plug for the Power and Dash interface.

When you extend the Power Interface wires to reach the stock location. You need to deloom it from the grey and brown plug all the way back to the ECU almost so you have a good length of wire as youre extending it a long ways.

The THICK If I remember right. Black with Red Stripe wire from the KA harness taps into the 2 Black with Red Stripe and Red wire from the S14 SR Dash and Power Interface plugs.

Unfortunately I'm not at home to go through my notes and verify all this step by step and such.

But those wires should tap into the 1 BIG wire on the Big KA Harness.

Right. I've extended all of the power and dash signal wires from the battery area back under the dash. I still dont know about those two sets of relays. I tried twisting all the needed wires together just to see if it would turn over. Nothing, just a loud clicking and buzzing sound from the S14 relays.

Thanks, and if you could check your notes to refamiliarize yourself as how you got yours to work I would be very thankful.

Ok I got it to crank. But I think that there is starter alignment issues because when I turn the key with the starter bolted to the bell housing it makes a terrible metal on metal sound, but when I jump the starter it works perfectly. Guess I have to pull the transmission and make sure that I got the new flywheel on exactly right.
