im basicly wondering what tire sizes will fit on an S13.

BTW i already searched to no avail and the sticky doesn't have this info.

i am mostly concerned with 16 and 17 inch sizes.

ive herd 225/40-17s are as big as you can go but nobody makes that size.

do you think 235/40-17s will fit with the right offset?

it would seem that the S13s biggest handling handicap is the fact that you cant put really meaty tires on em.

if i get some good responses maybe that info should be put into the tire sticky. so not only do people know what tires are good but what size will fit on their car.

all the of tire sites ive looked at (i.e. tirerack) list 215/45-17 as the largest size that an S13 can be upgraded to or 215/35-18s on an S14

you can go as large as you want with the correct wheels and offset, etc. with flares, I've seen 265-35-18 all the way around...

the more important question is what SHOULD you run, given your car, budget, etc...-chet

I must admit, I've never really been fond of the idea of taking a car that's a bit underpowered (stock 240sx) and then putting HUGE heavy wheels on it. If there's one thing our cars don't need, it's more weight.

i was actually thinking of 225/45-17 Azensis sports. that is what the SCC guys are running on project silvia. i would likely go wider in the back though.

17s work just fine and tires for them have become reasonable now. tires for 18s still tend to be steep.

any lowering i do will be minimal (less than 2" drop) so tire clearance shouldn't be an issue
