red and white tails are the sehks...

oh and to the op...acetone does good for taking off the vht nightshade....i did it twice before i got it just right. use alot and wash ur hands after it. then when u try it again wash the light in alcohol before u do it again.

heres a pic of my center "reflector" nightshaded....it almost looks like it was painted...i think it looks pretty good w/ the black paint...

alright well.. i tried again recently and they turned out a little better. However it's still not to my liking. They arent even shiny and I used VHT clear coat (supposed to give a mirror like finish)

i guess i have to wetsand?? should i just make them a tiny bit darker than stock or should i just make them how i have them now but shine them up some how?? any suggestions?

Dude, honestly I think that would look really sh!ty. If your not happy with your tails try doing wat it did. Look pretty coo imo and cops dont bother me bout having tinted taillights.

the clear coat is a tricky thing sometimes. either be really careful and do tons of layers, or layer it on hella thick all at once like i did and wet sand the piss out of it. thats what i did and it turned out pretty well i think...

minus the ginormous scuff in my center lens

depends on how "glossy" you want them. but it should be fine. but im picky with stuff like that and i wanted it smoothe so i worked from 1000 up to 3000 grit wet sanding. i just applied the clearcoat VERY liberally so i had enough to not worry about sanding into the tint

yeah i bought a "sanding kit" from advance auto and the pack said it came with 800, 1000, 1500, and 2000 but i only got 800, 1000, and 1500 in the pack .

i hope it doesnt mess with it. I know i wanna do some kind of tint, but i dont know what would look better on my red car. -Really dark like I had it but shiny like yours-Light smoke tint & shiny-Or something similar to "poems2beats"

IMO i would do a light tint and make it glossy. i think the only reason my dark-*** lights look acceptable on my car is cuz its a darker color. but a light tint should look really nice on yours. if you want higher grit paper, go to NAPA. thats where i got the 3000. but its like 5$ per sheet

ya no prob. if your gonna use the 3000, make sure you get it almost perfect first. its so fine that if you try and take down and orange peel or anything with it, its going to take days. its pretty much a buffer.

GoodLuck, post up pics when ur done with it
