Hey everyone,

Just bought a 100% stock 1990 240sx from an old man about a month ago and I'm starting to look into possible upgrades. I have big plans for the car and from all the feedback I've been getting I was advised to start with the suspension. It's my daily driver and I believe the shocks and struts have only been replaced once during the lifetime of the car so it definetley needs to be done lol any suggestions on quality parts for a good price? And what exactly should I look to replace. Realistically I'm not going to be drifting this car just looking for a smooth ride and great handling. Thanks!! :dblthumb:

Are you looking to keep the factory height or go lower? Coilovers are out of the question if you want a smooth ride although they provide the best handling. If you are wanting an upgrade, kyb shocks are relatively affordable and they offer adjustable dampening. After that, you could look into a slightly stiffer spring if you want, but factory springs can be re-used if you wish. KYB is only one of the many companies that offer good aftermarket shocks, they are generally the easiest to come across though.

I would suggest powered by max coilovers, seeing as you said you have big plans for the car, I would assume your either into drifting, auto-x, showing or something of that sort, good things I've heard about powered by max (I do not own these coilovers) is great price, wide dampening range, kick a** customer service, an awesome warranty. If your into the "herra frush" stuff then these have a wide range of ride height adjustability, if your into drifting they are wonderful, and I haven't looked into much about auto-x guys using these but I'm sure these would do just fine. If your not looking for coilovers then I would also suggest kyb. Anyways here's a link to pbm's site. And a couple other price friendly coilover options for ya
