I am about to order a front and probibly rear strut tower braces for my s13 coupe. Im wonderin which ones are pretty good for a reasonable price. Im not going to get some ebay junk, i want some genuine thick beefy strut bars. I was thinking this one for the front.

anyone know if this is a good one? And any suggestions for the rear one?

thanx guys

If you want a genuine STB, go with a name brand from our sponsors, but a STB is a STB. I am fairly happy with my Pilot STB. It does the job and having the rear STB made a big difference of handling on my 89 fb. However, if you want the bag for the buck, the same amount of money spent on front and rear STB's can be invested in Sway Bars instead. (Just my opinion)

Good opinion there bro. I've never thought of it that way before.Let's delve into this a bit, shall we?

STB vs Anti-swaybars. Which gives the bigger performance bang for the buck?

I may be wrong but my definitions are (please correct any errors I state) - STBs tighten up the chassis by reducing flex when turning, while Anti-swaybars prevent the chassis from tilting left or right while turning.

They both improve the handling characteristics of the car, but which would you buy if they both cost the same? (ie front and rear STB price = that of front and rear Anti-sway bars)

Is improved corning "feel/turn in" via STBs a better performance gain than a flat, go-kart like cornering that proper application of anti-sway bars can provide? Or vice versa?

This is very fascinating because one of these will be my next mod after my B&M shifter gets installed.

Opinions please.

If you want an instant feel difference for not so expensive and not hard to install, start with a rear STB. A pilot or ebay Megan STB work just as fine. My friend has the Megan STB's and they line up correctly and they made a noticible difference.

For installation purposes, the STB's are a piece of cake to install where as the Anti-Sway Bars are more hands on.

They are heavily associated with them but they make some stuff for us too. 4-2-1 header, turbo manifold, lower tie bar, and Carbon Steel Strut bar.
