So I bought a deck so I'd finally have something to listen to besides exhaust in my 240. There was no stereo in it period, just a cut and mangled harness. So far I've done fairly well and followed the wiring diagrams, and have almost everything connected. Problem is it says that the 12v acc is a blue wire....well there's 3 blue wires, and I think 2 red/yellows. If I plug the harness into the deck I get constant power I think because you can hear it try and eject a cd if I press the eject button.

However I've tried hooking the Red wire to all 3 blue wires and have gotten no luck as far as turning the stereo on while in ACC. Also the screen doesn't light up either, I don't know if I"m supposed to wire it up to the old illumination wire, or the dimmer.

This is my first time messing around with sound systems so it could be something simple I overlooked.

If the harness was all cut up then there is a pretty good chance that you have a blown fuse somewhere. There should be one under the hood and one in the kick panel. Start there just to make sure that isn't part of the problem.

I don't have any burnt out fuses anywhere, the audio fuse in the kick panel is good, and all the big fuses in the engine bay are good.

I wonder what the deal is with the 3 different blue wires, and 2 red/yellow. No wiring diagram I've looked at mentions anything like that. Right now I have every wire spliced to the new harness except the 12V switched, illumination, and right rear speaker(- or + I forget) because I don't know which wires to hook to it since the diagrams says a blue wire goes to both the 12v and speaker.

Edit: it's now down to 2 blue wires, after some tracing down I found that 2 of the blues were spliced into one blue wires. I think I found out which one goes to the speaker and which one is the 12v switched, but i still can't get the screen to light up, but I think everything else might be working, I'll be able to be sure if I can get that to work.
