Has anyone ever removed the leather from a S13 steering wheel? Is it a regular wheel underneath? I know the shift Knob is. My leather is very bad, I get black hands everytime I drive.

ThanksChad

Leather huh? mine is bugging me, but its not leather, its your typical rubber steering wheel. The rubber is not glued down to the metal frame of the wheel on the inside, so you can twist the grip around. Ive never seen a leather one, but I would assume its either over the rubber, or something similar. Probably not like the shift knob. All I know is that I can feel what would happen to mine if I took off the outer layer. It would be down to the metal (like 1/2-3/4 inch wide). I would reccomend taking out a small section of the stitching, and looking at whats underneath. If you dont like it, re-stich it.

good luck

Yeah, Nissan really cheaped out on the ammenities in the S13. Sometimes it's good. If the leather on your steering wheel or shift knob starts coming up, just peel it off and you'll have an untouched base model part. Sometimes it's very good. If you don't like the material on the door panels (you know, the crosshatch crap?) just peel it off and you'll have ready-to-rock black vinyl.
