it was running fine.

did an oil/filter change, flushed the coolant.

went to start it up, won't crank at all. all i hear is one "click" when i try to.

i accidently hit the positive battery cable against the intercooler pipe, which created a spark. i've done this numerous times on my old car and nothing like this happened. i checked all the fuses in the inside fuse box and in the fuse box to the left of the engine bay, but they are all good. ignition is fine, all accessories come on when i turn the key, it just won't crank.

any ideas?

That sounds like a blown fuse or relay.. You said you checked that.

As stupid as this sounds, try "wiggling" the battery cable. My little brothers car the battery cable went bad and wouldnt start in some positions.

battery is relocated to back. just put in a brand new battery, still nothing. battery cables are brand new and there is no corrosion whatsoever.

are there fuses in any other places that i don't know of? could starter solenoid have went?

Did you put a fuse inline for your long wire for the battery relocation? Could be that one if you've overlooked it, or possibly your starter relay. I'd check those small ones first before checking out the starter. Send the starter off to your local autoparts store, they should be able to test it.

where's the starter relay?

i didn't check if there was a fuse inline since i had someone else install it. i will check it out asap.

if neither of those is bad ill pull out the starter and send it to the auto store to test it out. thanks for the advice!

if you had blown a fuse inline to the battery than NOTHING would come on. YOu said you heard a click, which is the click of a relay.. So i am assuming that all of your accesories work.

yes, everything works. ignition works, and i hear a click when i go to start.

i guess the starter relay is the blue box with two connectors going to it by the passenger side headlight... im going to try to get my hands on another one in a few hours to check that out, otherwise im going to have to take off the starter and go get it tested.

Have you checked the starter? Same thing happened to me after an oil change. It ended up being just one of the plugs came off the starter when I was changing the (PITA to get to) oil filter. Check your starter and the plugs that go to it, i think its only 2. The little black plastic one is the one I knocked off, its comes off really easy.

you're a genius! hahahhahahhaha

yep, the plug popped off. i seen a plug in that area just hanging there but i thought it was a leftover one after the swap.

its a shame that it comes off that easy. i think im going to cut that connector off and make my own, the thing doesn't even want to stay on.

started right up. thanks a bunch!
