whats the main difference between the s13 SR and the s14 SR? i know the s13 came in the older red top and the black top, but the s14 is only black top and has that slant at the back and produces a little more horsepower. are the internals the same though?

thanks

however, that is an old thread with old information in it. almost all cam manufactures offer a full range of cams that work with VTC (NVCS) now.

Really?!?!? Damnit that was my whole reason for passing on the S14/S15 SR's. Guh. Buying an SR in 2001 FTL.

You bought your SR 6 years ago and have only put a few thousand miles on the car?

I just got my license last year and installed the SR during the summer (06). I'm WAAAAAAAYYYYY before the bandwagon. The pieces are just now coming together.

Wow. The motor sat around for 5 years. That's incredible.

I sealed that thing up like a space shuttle. Every last whole was sealed and epoxy coated. Getting the stuff off was a b1tch though.

That explains how you did your swap so cheap. I bet you got the motor for about half what they go for now.

yes. except for bearings which i need to buy and the forged parts that i bought/am buying to bore it out to 2.2L (rods are the only other part i still need to buy, and main studs i am considering replacing because of my high redline)

bearings will by cryo treated once i get them, and i may even get my pistons and sleeves done, depends on price and time.

you can, and i might depending on money. it would probably cost around $80 to do all 4 of them including shipping. at the power i plan to be running at i am overkill enough already, i might as well save the money. only reason i want to cryo the rods and sleeves is to reduce friction and the reinforce the sleeves because of how thin the walls are after you bore it out to 90mm.
