I need to know if I have an aftermarket TPS or if I am missing some thing from my wire harness. I reran my wire harness cause it was on the wrong way. Figured out how it has to be. But the plug that hooks up to the TPS on the wire harness is a 3 pin plug and the plug on the TPS is a 6 pin. I am posting pics if this also. I need to know if I have to get another TPS or figure out how to wire this one.

Your TPS is for an automatic SR.

To wire it up you can either get the proper connectors, or just bypass those connectors and splice the following wires together: black to black, white to white, and the red and green wires off the auto TPS together with the red/green wire on the 3 pin connector. I know for a fact this works on cars that use auto inner engine harness' with manual TPS's but I cannot confirm or deny it will work in your opposite case.

i had the same tps on my redtop when i purchased it, so i swapped my entire throttle body and tps off from my ka24de engine. just an option you could look into. oh yeah, on a side note, my motorset came with an auto ecu and that auto tps, but a manual transmission and has a stock flywheel/clutch setup. weird

The ecu that came with it is a #63 I think. I would have to go look at it and it's cold outside so I'll edit if I am wrong.

63 is an auto ECU.

Is that going to mess anything up?

expect an idle while you are moving to be up in the high 1000's that will drop to the normal idle once youve been stopped for a few secs. Thats the only major difference.

Ok thanks, I think I am going to use so I can get it running then look for an tuned ecu. Man I need to get this thing wired so I can start it and drive it. It's killing me to just look at it sitting in my driveway. Bad thind is that it's not the only non running 240 sitting in the driveway. I got my parts car there also. I am glad that no one around me has said anything yet.

Hey speed, thanx for that info. My car idles at around 2000 mostly but then 1000 sometimes. I know also cuz i have a larger radiator and dual electric fans taht are always on the engine runs cold( no heat and freaking snowing). So i will try a maual ecu and see what happens. i might end up just hooking up the fans to a potentiometer so i can control how fast they go.

There is a quick fix if you are using an auto ECU. There is a light blue wire coming out of the IACV connectors on the engine. If you cut it the idle will be more like a manual. I used to have an auto ECU so I just hooked up the wire to a on/off switch since the higher idle made driving in traffic easier.
