some people have problem with cometic ones

so I am looking to get either apex, blitz, hks, or greddy one, is there one better than the other?

stock bore is 86mm right? and I am probably looking for 1.2mm thickness for a 300~350rwhp car?

Apexi is the best.

If I ever take my head off again I will remove my Greddy and put an Apexi on it.

Iv had the Greddy 1.2mm on my sr for years and i love it.I would also suggest you get some new headstuds or bolts.I went with the ARP headstuds and they work very well.Much better setup then the stock nissan bolts. The ARP's Also come with some nice thick head washers.

Dont get me wrong, my Greddy HG with ARP studs has worked Great for 2 years now.

But I have heard of them failing, on other Forums and chat with other owner, and shops.

I have never heard of a Apexi Failure, plus they have a built in O ring.

are you saying greddy and others doesn't have built in O ring while apexi does? if greddy and such don't have O ring, what do they use? stock O ring?

also, is ARP studs nessassary? what does it really do? the shop I am going to said I need headgasket for the gt2871r to run safely at the efficient boost level (15~18psi). But they said for the power I'll put down won't require arp headstud.. what do you guys think?

ARP studs are stronger than stock, and if you are taking off the head, you might as well replace the studs.

An ounce of prevension is worth a pound of cure.

how about valve springs? and rocker arm stocker?

to my understnading they are premeasure against over rev/mis shift

I value my car way to much to do anything like that. Everytime when I hear peple shift redline 3rd or 4th gear into a lower one, I don't know how that's even possible. can I not get rocker arm stopper and valve spring?

I am thinking just head gasket and arp stud... by the way, for 300~350rwhp, shoudl I get 1.1 or 1.5mm?

ui dont quite understand what you mean when you say "I value my car way to much to do anything like that. Everytime when I hear peple shift redline 3rd or 4th gear into a lower one, I don't know how that's even possible. can I not get rocker arm stopper and valve spring?"

and as far as the 1.1 vs. 15 id say 1.1, but if you plan to go any higher or want to be on the safer side then spend the extra $ and get 1.5

I would say you dont need the Valve springs unless you change cams.

But the Rocker Arm stoppers is a MUST........A MUST.......A MUST!!!!!!!

You are going to be running a bigger turbo and its going to spin that motor big time once you get into upper RPMs. So you are bound to hit the rev limiter once in a while. I do with my GT2540R.

If I were you I would go with Rocker Arm Stoppers (I liked my Tomei, but all are good), and Apexi 1.1 HG, ARP studs.

If you go with cams, get new springs and a valve job.

BTW......What are you doing for engine management?

it's a untuned power fc, nismo 555, walbro

I plan to tune it after the turbo install and call it a day. I probably need a nismo fpr for tuning?

I set my rev limit at 6800 but I guess rocker arm stopper is reasonable, though proabbly not springs for me at the moment unless I get cams in the future

It looks like apexi 1.1mm and 1.5mm is the same price.. about 210$ cash pick up.
