s13 sr20det lagging after a slight over heating

My car over heated to a dumb plastic extension tube to extend the radiator hose. After i replaced the hosing with the proper one it runs slower. I thought it was just me but i asked my friend to drive it, he drove it before it over heated, and he said that he felt it as kinda slow too. Any thoughts on where i should start to look to fix this problem? I feel the turbo doesnt kick as hard as it used too and also the car jolts between 3-4k rpm, the turbo is supposed to kick in at 4k. I dunno, please give me some advice before i g out blowing money and another swap ><;;

PS.man nissan 240sx rocks! why was i so stuck on RX7's for such a long time !
