the car was running perfectly a few days ago. i drive it to work, and when i try to leave i turn the key all the lights come on and nothing happens. no starter click/noise. i walk away for a few min, come back and the car starts. i drove it home turn it off and try to turn the key again, and again nothing.

immediately im thinking bad stater. so i go and buy a KA stater and put it in my sr housing and bolt it back up. still a no go.

The car will start when i bridge the connects on the starter with a screwdriver.

im pretty sure its not a relay. i can hear the blue clutch safty relay click, and another green one on the other side of the engine bay.

so we took a volt meter and some wires.. all the fuses in the engine bay are good. its getting the same power all the way from the battery to the starter.

i have yet to check any wires in the steering column. but how could that be the problem if the relays click? i dont think its the clutch safty switch behind the clutch pedal either, bc like i said the relay clicks when i turn the key..

any ideas?

little confused, the fist place you start is, take off the solenoid wire or keep it on and test it and see if your getting voltage from the ignition switch all the way through the circuit to the solenoid. You are jumping past the solenoid and jumping from battery strait to starter when you jump terminals

the smaller wire that connects to the starter gets voltage when i turn the key(signal wire?).i checked the plugs going to the blue relay. they get voltage when i turn the key. you can even hear the relay click when you turn the key. i even tried just bypassing it with a wire to see if it would start then. would i hear a noise coming from the actual solenoid? im pretty sure i put in together the right way. and it started to this even before i swapped the starter.
