first off im a noob and have looked through faqs from many sites and have not found an in-depth discussion about this. planning to pick up a 240 89-94 soon and do the swap instead of sticking with a ka. before starting and following through with that plan i would just like to know of the pros and cons of each motor. the most that i have learned from reading is that s13 sr's are cheaper, i found more parts for the s13 sr as oppose to the s14 sr. i read somewhere that the torque of the s13 sr is more erradict than the s14. the peak hp difference between the two motors is about 18. if there is any insight that you can afford to give please do.

Thanks

S13, this has been discussed many more times than how many posts you have.

this has been discussed over and over on this site alone... i dont even have an sr nor do i pretend to know everything about them but damn i know what most of the differances are between the two...

Ps what do yah know... on page two of the FAQ above it states the differance between all Sr motor years ! HMMM maybe someone should try researching a lil harder next time !!!!

i see this too much... people that dont even have 240's wanting to get sr swaps knowing nothing about the motor and costs....its kinda getting ridiculous.

I recomend you get an s13 motor...wiring up is a breeze compared to the s14 in an s13 chasis. If you are worried about the health of the motor, i recomend you getting a blacktop s13. they were in 97 and up 180sx(rps13) much newer motors... rather the redtops range from 91-96 rps13 chasis (liftback model) or 91-94 in the ps13 chasis (coupe model).

if you are going to buy a motor...try to get the front clip. You get everything (ecu, harness, ignitor, smic, afm, maybe lights)if not, make sure you get everything, otherwise it will be a pain later.

good luck to you :ylsuper ~Joe~
