Picked up this 1990 s13 with a bhg a few months ago.........
My plans for it.. sr swap, suspension, and better rims. Keeping it simple.
Got a little bit done today, took out the ac compressor, condenser, and ps reservoir. Got my dash almost ready to be pulled so I can toss the ac s***. Had to stop there cause my girl had to work and I have to babysit my daughter. Ahh the joys of fatherhood.. I assume I have to keep this for the fuel tank...?
Tomorrow morning I'm going to take off the crank dampener and clutch/flywheel. Later this week my front and rear seal should be coming.
Got a little bit done today, pulled the dash, took off the clutch and flywheel and the bolt off the crank pulley. I need to borrow a large puller from work to get the dampener off.
Got some gaskets and seals, time to get to work tomorrow......
Got the front and rear seal in, valve cover gasket and spark plug tube well gaskets in as well. Got all the ac s*** out too. I went and bought a seal puller which made pulling off the rear main seal a breeze! So glad I didn't have to take off the upper oil pan just to get the seal retainer off!
So here are the mounts..
the machining quality is excellent imo. Here's a link if anybody's interested.. 89-98 NISSAN 240SX "Firmus Heli" HELI-COIL MOTOR MOUNTS - eBay (item 290508651411 end time Feb-02-11 20:58:03 PST)
I got the isis oil pan installed. I thought I would have to modify the baffle to make it fit but nothing was hitting, it fit perfectly!
I ordered some parts yesterday, lets see, I got an intercooler kit, auto to manual clutch line, manual drive shaft, clutch and lightened flywheel, turbo elbow, and solid transmission mount. I'm slowly getting there!
I know some people will hate, but I went with the cx racing kit...
Tomorrow my clutch and flywheel and turbo elbow should be here!
So...got some more parts in today, manual drive shaft, clutch w/lightened flywheel and turbo elbow. My wiring specialties harness will be here next week.
The turbo elbows on, was going to drill out the holes for the clutch master but its been raining non stop here...
Yesterday while I was putting on the throwout bearing I couldn't get the bearing to seat evenly, so like a dumb f***, I preceded to hit the sleeve with a hammer and I cracked the sleeve...
So I ordered a new one as well as some oem flywheel bolts. Onto some good news, my wiring harness came in today and tomorrow my oem water pump, nismo thermostat and solid transmission mount will be in.
More parts to add to the list, a wiring specialties harness, isis 255 fuel pump, solid transmission mount, oem water pump and nismo thermostat.
I managed to get some stuff done today. I put on the water pump, thermostat, fuel pump and took off the bumper to get ready for the intercooler install..
Got the clutch/flywheel and transmission bolted to the motor, tomorrow the motor gets dropped in!
Motors in, I still need to buy a down pipe, exhaust, fuel lines, vac lines, gauges, maybe a new brake master, not sure on that as there was no brake fluid in there when I bought the car, however it does have goodridge brake lines. I don't think they would be leaking..
I may have to cut a bit of the coils in the front cause it looks like its sitting a bit higher than the rear with the sr in it, but we'll see how it will sit when I get the intercooler and rad in..
This is where I stand today..
Sweet, I'll toss it. Thanksbersh240 wrote:that thingy you said " I assume I have to keep this for the fuel tank...?" to is the carbon canister. its for emissions. you dont need to keep it.
please dont "cut the coils"
nice project so far
