Post

Its been quite some time since I have been on here...

Basically I have spent the last 4 years building my car and this is the only thing left to be done/fixed.

Here is what it is doing:

Basically it seems to be running insanely rich so you have to ease on the throttle. Also, as soon as you even out boost/vacuum at 0 i think it is cutting spark or just dumping too much fuel because it boggs then backfires when you let off the throttle.

It has a new water temp sensor, i have checked/swapped ignitor and coils, Boost tested ok multiple times, checked for vacuum leaks, Checked my timing a few times...and here i am

Any ideas?? Thanks!

The tune is wrong. You smash the pedal and engine vacuum drops to O, which is normal. what is NOT normal is the fact that the engine sputters and backfires i.e. the fueling or ignition timing or both is incorrect (probably fuel) and its either

A: the ECU is tuned wrong
B: the MAF sensor is reading incorrectly (due to an air leak somewhere, or improper MAF selection)
C: the ignition base timing is set incorrectly
D: You may have a misc. random electronic problem or misc. fuel problem, such as a bad fuel regulator or clogged fuel filter or something stupid that is simulating a bad tune/air leak.

And air leak cannot affect the engine at 0psi, only the FUELING adjusted by the computer. So we are not just looking for an air leak that affects power (boost leak) it could just as easily be a vacuum leak after the maf (before the turbocharger) for instance
