Post

Hi, im fairly new to this forums and to start with my first post I would like to ask a few questions, meet some new people, and share some things I'd like to do to my 1992 240SX SE Coupe.

First: Sports exhaust
I've been doing some research on specific exhaust styles I would like to use on my coupe and so far I have found one and a specific style that I like. I guess from watching to much Initial D I'v grown on the sports exhaust style and while browsing the forums I have come across this one.

Now I'm not sure what exhaust this one actually is because on the website I found it no one gave an exact name to it although it "could" be from one of the exhaust I will list. I found this pic on http://www.sfldrifters.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=57564
and the possible exhausts could be;
-Apexi Hybrid Megaphone Exhaust S13
-Apexi WS2 Universal Exhaust S13
-ISIS Megaphone MB SE Exhaust S13
-HKS Sports Exhaust S13
-Fujitsubo 2.5 inch exhaust S13

Second: 5 lug conversion
This one shouldn't be to hard;
ISIS Performance PRO Series 5 Lug Hub Conversion - Nissan 240sx 89-94 S13 - Enjuku Racing Parts, LLC
If I buy these is it as simple as doing it my self or taking it to a shop and just slapping them on and I'm good to go.

Third: R35 Rims

Image
My question is if I do the 5 lug conversion will these rims fit on my coupe? They are 20 inch and if I put low profile tires on them?

Forth: Brembo Gran Turismo Big Brake kit
Brembo Gran Turismo Brake Kit-S13/S14 240SX (w/5-Lug) PRICE MATCH GUARANTEE
It says in the description that if you do the 5 lug conversion these will work for an S13. I'v tried googling it but can't seem to find anyone who has done them also if I get this done with the 5 lug will the GTR rims fit, if the GTR rims will not fit will the 350Z OEM 5 spoke rims fit?

Lastly: What are best suspension upgrades to the S chassis with all that I would like to do to it and one more thing How do I make one of those signature pictures of your car with three views of your car in pixel form?

Welcome aboard! Here's a great place to start learning about mods for your S13: www.240sxtech.com

I'll let the other guys chime in on the other questions, but as far as 20" wheels on a S-chassis, the simplest answer is... No way. 350Z wheels are an option, but the offset is difficult (and they're heavy).

17" 350z wheels are pretty good on an s13 IMO. My girlfriend has the 17s on her car and they look like they're supposed to be there:

They are indeed heavy though. Not much better or worse than stock as far as weight goes, but you do get more tire. Now the 18" or 19" Z wheels, I wouldn't do.

As far as R35 wheels....I'd drop the idea. If you absolutely have to have them, then it can be done. BUT, you'll spend a butt-ton of cash on the wheels themselves, and then another butt-ton on getting them to fit without making the car look ragged, and then you'll be running some really weirdly sized tires and have some very tight clearances. And after all of that they don't look that great on an s13. They're just too big. They look kind of dumb even on an s14:

Are those tires or rubber bands? Can't tell.

For your brakes, that is a pretty sweet setup. However, is it going to be worth it? If you're not out on the track every weekend busting out lap times, a baller setup like that isn't really necessary (unless you just have to have it). A popular (and very wallet friendly) brake upgrade for s-chassis is the stock Z32 setup. You get a larger diameter rotor, 4 piston calipers up front, and 2 piston calipers out back. There are a few writeups on this forum, so read up! Also, they look pretty badass as well:

For suspension, there are many options. Coilovers are something you're going to want. You get height adjustability as well as dampening adjustability, you can swap out springs, and do all kinds of cool stuff. You can spend $200 on coilovers and you can spend $5000 on coilovers. Again, if you're not competing super hard, dont waste the money on competition level stuff. $1000-$2000 is a good price range for decent coilovers. I know Fortune Auto FA500s are very popular because they are high quality for the price. You can also build a custom Koni and ground control setup for under $1500 ( a very awesome setup BTW).

Finally, your exhaust. Add RS*R ExMag to your list. A little more low-key than the picture you posted, but it looks and sounds great

Super-Humble Greg (AZHitman) also sells some pretty awesome exhaust setups for S13s and S14s and he offers a muffler that kind of fits the look you're going for. Look up BRM exhausts. I have yet to hear of anyone that isn't satisfied with them, quality, sound, and looks are all top notch.

Welcome aboard! This board has been around for a long time, so most things you might have questions about may have already been answered! Use the search function to look up things you're wondering about, and if you still can't find anything, feel free to ask.

Thanks for the feed back!!

Question, before I got the idea for the GTR rims I was thinking about these;
Image
The 18" 350Z OEM 5 spoke rims, you made a good point about the GTR rims, you think these will be a tad bit better?

The Brembo brakes are pretty expensive, Iv always liked the RED big brake calipers, although i'm leaning towards the idea of getting the z32 kit to start off and eventually get the brembos.

As for the suspension, I'm new to cars so I can only go off of people's opinion's and what "looks" cool and the only other ones that look pretty cool are the teins suspension, but I just googles the fortune 500 one's and I must say, those look pretty cool to, is that one of the best suspension upgrades for a good price? My thinking is buy a really really good pair so I don't have to buy another for example what one is better kinda thing.

And finally thank you very much I think I am going to buy the RS*R ExMag exhaust now, that's like perfect style for me. Im going for the Initial D(Old school)/ sleeper look, I don't mind the coffee can look but until I get horsepower that those kinda exhaust will benefit I love this look.

There are a few guys running those 18's on S13s. personally I don't think they look that great, but you be the judge:

Whatever floats your boat. I think these are the best z wheels for an s13

G35 wheels also look pretty good:

Fortune auto coilovers are pretty solid. They're a good company with a good reputation. I wouldn't think twice.
