Ok so I have been SERCHING but I guess I suck at it because I can’t find what I’m looking and I’m sure it has been covered.

So I’m trying to remove my Governor. I have a 93 240sx with a red top sr20det. My speed tops out at a little over 110MPH. I have seen the greddy speed cut device has anyone used one? How did it work? Any other ways to cut the speed limiter? Thanks.

You can try one of two things...disconnect 4th and 5th gear sensors that should work. If that doesn't take care of it than cut the speed signal input wire at the ecu. The only thing is if you have a chipped ecu with launch control DO NOT cut that wire because than the car would redline at your programmed launch rpm. Plus usually if an ecu is chipped than governor is deleted from the program.

Btw, to clear things up cutting the speed input at the ecu WILL NOT affect speedometer. The speedometer receives signal from speed sensor, uses the signal and also converts it to a signal the ecu can use and ecu uses converted signal from cluster.

I have heard that this will create problems with the car running right. Anyone ever heard of this happening?

My car ran fine without it....it doesn't affect our cars because we are not speed density tuned like Honda's are. We are maf/tps tuned so it only effects redline/governor.

Ahh i misread that thinking KA24DE being 111MPH. Hmm I have no clue, maybe this is better asked in SR

Maybe a 200rpm difference, just adjust it, plus you'll be running a 5spd TPS (different design but unsure if there is any technical/functional difference)
