has anyone put anything larger than 4x6s in the back of their S13 hatch.

i know that 4x6s suck in a rear position. decent up front though (i have pioneer 4x6s in the dash of my truck and they sound pretty nice.)

after seeing all the odd speaker sizes in the nissans my S10 seems very user friendly for aftermarket audio. it takes 4x6s in the dash and 6x9s in the rear side panels.

sounds like if i want a good audio system in an S13 ill want a coupe

yes im trying to find an s13.

know of any for sale in wyoming/colorado

The only way you can fit anything larger is with a custom built housing. But really the 240 wasn't designed that way. It was really ment for subs. The 4x6 control the high stuff and the subs control the low. Thats generaly how I invision my system.

Have to agree with scruf on this one. With 4x6 speakers, there's no chance at getting acceptable bass, especially if you are only powering them with a HU. In my 240, I have an Alpine CDA-7894 HU with 27 watts RMS x 4, and that powers the Boston 746 speakers I have all around. I use the crossover built into the HU to filter all the lows out, so all the lows go to my Boston 10" sub, with a 200-watt Alpine amp. A fairly modest system, but it sounds great, and if I want to wake the neighborhood up, I can do that too. ;-)
