Had this idea for some time but just curious if any one has tried this before. I had this idea one day that what if i took a silvias rear clip and fabricated quarters to match and mount on a hatchback 240sx. But also keeping a functional hatch with silvia tail lights and garnish. Is this possible? I couldn't see y not. Opinions welcomed.

Uhh... WTF are you talking about? Like S13 Coupe tail lights on a hatch? Or a hatch on a coupe? Like a duck on a unicorn?

If I am getting what you're saying correctly, wouldn't it be easier to just retrofit the coupes tail lights on to a hatch instead of cutting out quarters and a whole bunch of excess fabrication? Plus the coupe quarters wouldn't match up with the quarter windows of a hatch. This is confusing...

That is what i had in mind, retrofit coupe lights into the rear of the hatch but either way i would still need to fabricate the quarters around the tail lights and maybe the trunk. But i would have to make measures first ,ofcourse, to know for sure, So yes you got it right.

:gotme eh eh eh? Looks unique. You gotta do good body work to pull it off though.

The bottom garnish would be easy if not bolt on. Just need to fabricate the top garnish and cut out the metal on the quarter panels as well as weld new openings for the tail lights. Seems do-able.

That is probably due to my quick photochop. I kind of clipped the top of the left light. Also the hatch convexes outward more than the coupe so I didn't quite get that bend in the photochop.

240sx/180sx tails in a coupe would be more interesting. I've never been a fan of the coupe rear end.

I dunno man, you really wanna go through all that trouble? It looks okay, but if I was you I'd keep your vert and make it look nice. That's just me though.

The more i think about it, i seems to be more work than it looks but im determined to do it. Might not be as soon as i hope depends on when i find a hatch. When i got the vert my plan was to chop the top of a hatch i had and put it on the vert body but that way was more work. And i dont know how stable it would have been after that. I never liked convertibles so if i get a buyer or a good trade im letting it go.

Dont like it. Coupe Tails look too much like DA integra lights. So while your at it you might aswell put Integra tails on it. Scratch that, while your at it put RSX tails on.

Yeah that's what I thought at first. You know, as weird as it may be I really do want to see someone pull this off correctly so I can see the outcome.

And yeah, kouki tails are the bee's knees. :dblthumb:
