OK after looking at the tech section of the site i just have a simple question for those with the silvia front end. Did you wire your fogs to your low beams or run a seperate switch for the fogs?

Im asking as im sourcing the parts for a silvia front end and wondering how i should set up the lights. I have the dual projectors and was thinking about wiring the fogs to the low beams now so when i finsh getting all the parts they will be ready to go in. Any pros or cons to doing it? Also i love seeing pics of dual projectors with the fogs on so if you have any pics please feel free to post them with your reply as i would like to have some more pics to ad to my collection.

It's just personal preference. I don't really think it makes a big difference either way. Fog lights are basically just for looks anyways.

I got my fogs wired into my low beams, it looks really nice. But it does come down to personal preference. But I think it looks better when tied into the low beams.

i have mine wired into the low beams(triple projectors), i really like the way it looks, it doesnt provide any more lighting than the standard low beams do though, i got the fog light switch with my front end and ive thought about making it functional.....but whenever its foggy, or raining, or dark i just use the regular lights

thanks guys. i thought it is crazy to wire them to a switch when its so easy to wire them to the lows and it looks so good, just wanted to see what everyone did with theirs.

what gauge wire did you guys use to wire them together? i have some 18 gauge wire laying around and wondering if thats good enough or if i should go to a bigger gauge.

Why not wire it to a seperate switch? You can operate either whenever you please and not have to have the fogs on whenever u turn on your lows. I wired mine independently.. it takes more wiring and some knowledge to do so.

well i noticed the lows look like a 16 ga wire and the fogs look like an 18 ga wire so thats why i asked.

well i plan on having my fogs on all the time so there is no need for a switch, just wanted to see what others did in case they ran into any problems.

I don't have the Silvia front end. but I had a set f fogs that were wired to a remote for my key chain. they were pretty nice. but here you can't have them wired like that and when those got busted I bought another set and wired them to the low beams. Doesn't seem to draw too much power. I miss that remote though, looked sweet with just the parking and fogs on.
