s13 shift knob is being gay

i just bought a 5 speed transmission this morning off of an 89 240 sx and the shift knob is siezed to the shifter. me , cuz and a pair of vice grips couldnt budge it, any ideas. i wanna stay with a stock shifter as well becuase short shifters tend to make your tarnny grind. show me a pic of the shifter with no knob on it, i have no idea what i could do besides grind the hell out of it or heat it with torches. maybe im just a retard and theres some simple thing i dont know about taking it off. also does it press on straight or thread on?

its a twist on. you have to turn the knob counter clockwise I think to get it off. get a drill and drill a hole horizontally through the top nob. then stick a screw drivier through the hole. and turn the screw driver liek a crank to crank it off its what I had to do for mine. this should work for you.

it came off but it wasnt easy to break it loose it took two pairs of vice grips and it was really siezed on by the paint but its good now
