Has anyone ever tried to put those ebay racing buckets in an s13 hatch? The ones im talking about are the ones they advertise having 'universal rails/sliders'. If so, are the seats worth a crap?

i myself haven't but those rails will almost certainly require some fabrication to work. our seat sit extremely low and the cross support just in front of the seat is an issue for most seat rails that aren't oem.

You say most seats are too high, do you mean from the bottom of the rail to the top of the headrest? Anyone have first hand knowledge of what kind of fabrication/modication needs to be done?

most seats are too high just in that the bottom cushion of the seat will actually be much taller than stock. which puts your head against the ceiling. if you ever pull your seats out, its amazing how thin the base is.

Just watch the pimp my ride 240sx. The kids seats have the high rails and his head hits the ceiling.

So then when looking for a seat, I should try to find one that has a low profile from the top of the bottom cushion to the bottom of the rails/sliders correct?

You will most likely want a side mount seat for the lowest seating... try a search, there is tons of good info on NICO about seats and how they fit

They'll work. Just make sure you have an open sunroof to stick your head out of.
