I was reading some posts that i searched, and was wondering how comfortable the s13 seats are and will they fit in a 1990 nissan 240? If so, where is a good place to find them

Umm, unless im mistaken, didnt the 1990 240sx come with s13 seats stock? My 93 did! You must mean s14 seats. They are alittle more comfortable than the s13 but the s13 seats hold you in a little better i think. You can sometimes find them in the classified section or maybe try a junkyard.

a 1990 nissan 240 IS an s13. the '89 and '90 seats are slightly different from '91-'94 seats though. the '91-'94's have an adjustable headrest whereas the '89 and '90 seats look more like a racing seat. far as i know the rest of the seat is exactly the same.

Wel not entirely true, unless i have 89-90 seats. I have the non adjustable, race-like seats in a 93. Its probably a base model thing. Yes like driftaholic said, you have an s13.

I had the non-adjust seats in my car. they sucked. driver side had a hole in the side where the metal seat frame poked through and got really hot. and they looked ugly. I swapped in the seats from a '92. much better.

i love my s13 seats, but im probably gonna swap for some corbeaus, id sell you mine, but theres a hole on my driver seat about 3"X2" covered with duct tape to keep it from getting bigger, if the seats were black, id probably keep them instead of corbeaus. but dude, dont pay too much for stock seats, you can get a decent after-market seat for 200-300 bucks.

My 90 came with the fixed headrest style too. Yeah - racing seats are pretty cheap too - but if you want stock... you want stock.

Could've been an option too, to have different seats depending on the package you got when you bought the car.

Isn't there a thing in the do it yourelf section on 240sx.org about making your s13 hold you in better?

You seem confused.

s13 = 1989 - 1994s14 = 1995 - 1998

I recommend that you get the newest seats you can find at a reasonable price. New seats usually feel so much better than old seats because foam deteriorates and dry-rots over the years, losing its firmness. In fact, any s13 seats you find are likely to be trash; they're now about 15 years old. Also, the s14 design just seems better, for both support and looks.

Front seats of an s14 will bolt directly into an s13. Rears won't.

Do a search athttp://www.car-part.com (Make sure you type the URL correctly -- with a hyphen -- or you will go to the wrong website.) It is a master database of most all salvage yards, and it lists many 240sx seats.

There's usually many pages of results. Don't forget to look at all the pages, not just the first one (which usually has the highest prices).

Bear in mind that shipping costs for seats can be over $100 for the pair, because they have to be shipped via "freight" on a pallet. So, its good if you can find them within your personal pickup distance.

Each seat is held in by just 4 bolts, one in each leg. Swapping is simple.

S15 front seats will also bolt into an S13 or S14 directly.

I just got an s13 and the seats feel very wierd to me. In their most upright position i still have to lean back for my whole back to be touching. The seem to stick out too much in the lower back area. Anyone know a good way to fix this? Thats the only thing I dislike about the feel of the car.

I know exactly what you're talking about. That was my main complaint about my 240 when I got it. I had leather seats and it was starting to really strain my back since it wasnt even very cushiony. I purchased a pair of S14 seats for $200, bolted them in effortlessly, and it was worth every penny.

I have the non adjustable 'racing' seats in my 93. They're pretty damn nice...although I'd really like to get them repadded/reupholstered.
