s13 s14 tie rods interchangablity

i'm getting some conflicting info about the tie rods interchangablity with the s13 and the s14. Nissan says there not but a parts dealer claims that they are. Who do I believe.

Cusco and nismo list the interchangability as;S13, R32 sameS14, R33 sameSo no, the numbers say they don't. That is not to say you might not be able to thread the S13 ones out all the way to fit an S14 or S14 ones all the way in to fit and S13 but that's your steering and suspension, I wouldn't do anything too ghetto.

well phase2motortrend sells the s13 inner with s14 outer

the rode tein sells are advertised as s14's but fit s13. here is an email i got from SPL regarding the subject:

"The Tein tie rods are the same for S13 and S14. The tie rods for S13/S14 are different length from the Z32 tie rods, the tie rod ends have to be longer/shorter accordingly to fit the appropriate tie rods…"

so they are different, but will work

Does anyone know if the outer tie rods are different between the S13 and S14? More specifically the joint portion. The reason I ask is because I've recently did a 5 lug swap on my S13, I used S14 steering knuckles. I did replace the ball joint on the lower control with a S14 due to the different taper. But I was curious to know if the outer tie rod had the same taper problem.
