ok so i blew the stock t25 turbo that came with the red top so i bought a slightly bigger garett t28 hooked everything up and ran the car.

at first it ran perfectly normal... when i revd it the boost would show 10-12 psi and 15-20 vaccume at idle.

so i turned off the car and started it the next day and now it barley reads zero psi on the gauge... at idle vaccume is still 15-20.

i checked all IC clamps and fittings and wastegate is not stuck open.

i also took apart the entire shabang, blades are not seized or damaged

Please give me some ideas

Thanks

Since I know nothing about boost yet I would suggest trying here zeroforum?id=23

so you were able to build boost just reving it in nuetral?

that usualy requires antilag, or brake torquing an automatic, or serious air/fuel problems, or serious timing problems

yes in neutral it would boost... it is a manual.... still holds vaccume at idle

when i put my foot on the gas now it still runs but like an N/A and sometimes it will miss or at least that is what it sounds like but i thought i heard it coming from the IC piping

what i found strange is that the hot pipe is still getting pressure cause the BOV which is mounted on the hot pipe still blows off

i asked my local shop about it they said to check all the gaskets and connections directly on the turbo...

they also said it could be a fuel pressure regulator problem but IDK

well have you driven it yet? just because a t25 built boost in neutral doesn't mean a larger t28 will do the same, since your basicly asking a freer flowing exhaust turbine to work off the same amount of exhaust

yes when i put the t28 it ran perfect for the first day 10-12 psi... no problems then i turn it off and the next time i start it... it doesnt boost but i can still drive it with no boost just super slow

also if i rev it in quick successions the boost sometimes will reach 5 psi.... it go to zero boost zero vaccume the first couple of throttle openings and by the third or fourth it would jump to 5... but the BOV released a massive amount of pressure...

it flutters and it is not a fluttering BOV (HKS SSQV is what i have) and in my experience when it flutters its boosting to high but i dont know bout that

ok so now i have gotten it to boost normal psi..... on the gauge

but still im not feeling the boost ya know....

the gauge reads 5-9 psi when rpms increase but the car is not picking up speed when this happens still just runs like an N/A

so now im thinking its an maf problem or fuel problem...

need somemore ideas ppl

thanks

What T28 did you put in there? Whats your fuel setup like?

Is it the T28 off the S14 or the T2860 or T2870?? If your running either of the last 2 on the stock fuel pump and injectors, I'd suggest you get rid of those and put something that can handle those turbo's. With the 60, you should be able to get away with the stock injectors but I'd REALLY look into getting a walbro fuel pump for your setup. That might be your issue.

leaning out, going to rich, misfiring.

my buddies car would build boost slow and not have any extra power when his maf was misaligned because of turbulance screwing up the reading, the car would go lean, start to borderline knock, and the ECU would pull gobs of timing

any extra power made by the boost was negated by the screwed up air fuel ratio and the lack of timing.

so check EVERYTHING you can, even get your hands on a wide band if possible
