s13 rear hatch , latch is rotted what to do?

hey everyone i have an 89 fastback and the rear hatch latch , not the mechinism itself but the lil loop peice of metal thats actually attached to the hatch on top is rotted away. i was wondering what i can buy to fix this..aren't theres things i can attach to the outside of the hatch to hold it down securely..i dont have the 200+ $$$ dollars to buy a new rear hatch..thanks in advance ,

hopefully, some1 in the classifieds section can help u out w/ a replacement... unless you're savvy w/ fabbing some sheetmetal under thurr...

aight thanks..my dad suggested just a plat of somesort underneat of there and stuff..but yeah welder deff sounds good..thanks alot guys
