well my caliper has been leaking since i got the car and it leaks just while sitting in the driveway.. i recently bought a rebuild kit for it ($5) and was going to replace the seal and dust boot. after taking the piston out, the dust book was s***, but the seal didn't look damaged at all..could the seal still be bad? the cylinder wall of the caliper looked like it had a few minor knicks, so im not sure if its the caliper...or the seals.. here are some pics..should i replace the seal and dust boot and try it out, or just get a used caliper from someone off here? thanks..

can't really see the wall or anything..

old seal

piston

dust boot

Just go to the part out section in the classifieds and find a used caliper. Its alot easier, I got one off of someone on here for like $20 or $30.

i think i'll have too...i had about a rebuild kit from Autozone, and the seal wasn't the right size... funkers...anyway..i just sanded the cylinder wall with 1500grit a bit to clean it up, threw the old seal back in (it looked pretty decent) and put the new dust boot on..maybe it just wont leak or something...but i think i need a new one...it sucks because im running out of cash!

My rear was leaking too, it had the a small nick in it I almost couldn't see. I bought a new rebuild kit from autozone, replaced it, and it was fine, and hasn't leaked since. I recommend trying the rebuild kit, it's much cheaper then getting another caliper.
