Yeah yeah I know this has been asked a bazillions times. But all I hear is you need a mountain of $$$$$ to do it. My question is what exactly it takes to do this not how much. Does the firewall need to be moved back, what needs to be cut, motor mounts and what not.

with a RWD transmission you need:

mountsdownpipeoilpanand everything else is the same as the rb25 swap (except intercooler)

AWD rb26, nobody knows. will cost WAY too much.

a RWD rb26 can realistically be done for about 2500$ on top of the price of a GTR clip.

So if I wanted to go with a rwd setup it probably would not cost tons of cash?

i didnt forget itits not needed. what IS needed is some shaving off the rear turbo o2 sensor housing.

at least that is what im told.

downpipes probably 100-200 at any exhaust shop to be honest it depends on the shop.

edit: **** im forgetting something big, you need to modify the oil pickup also. i dont know what needs to be done or changed, but the pickup hits the baffles on the rb25 pan.

as far as i know that was only a rumor, only a small amount of shaving was needed for proper clearance

The rear Tyrbo is fine. It's the front one that gives you issues. SHould have the new kit out soon, this will allow you to keep both turbos........

Lots of great info everybody, but what about the drive shaft, and does an rb25 trans bolt right up or is there something that has to be done? If you were to go with a single turbo I take it that there wouldnt be any turbo fitment issues right?

you beat me to the right hand drive. But I have seen the 26 mounted in the 240 at Mckinney's and like he said its the front pipe that causes the problem and they are already almost done with that fix.

I think it all depends on how and were you make your mounts. My friends RB sits, dare I say, perfect in the S13's engine bay. Alot of people don't belive how easy it looks.

jojothemonkey, you obviously have to get a driveshaft made up for either tranni (RB25 and RB26).
