CarlH did the harness for the guy I bought my motor setup off of, but as has been pointed out, hes been MIA lately.

He has one of the big 8 pin (waterproof as it says in the FSM) plugs going to the injectors. I've been tearing through all the FSM's, wire harness installs, and skyline swap pages I can find but I still can't identify what this plugs into. Any explanation or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

You should post pictures of said connector and section of harness in question. There is a 8 pin square connector by fender on r32. As for injectors not sure if injector harness is split from main harness like coil harness. But there-should be connector for injector resistor on 26, but I think that's 7 wire connector so is the ignition coils plug.

It may be this injector resistor you're talking about. Theres an open pin in the 8 pin plug.

I didn't take a picture because I'm not sure if it will help at all...the wire colors change in the harness from what they are in the plug, and since it's just the engine harness I have no idea where it's suppose to mount in the engine bay.

I do know 100% that the wires in the plug go directly to the injector clips, then the injectors have another wire that goes back to the ECU. So what else are the injectors supposed to go to on an 26 besides the ecu?

And if it's this injector resistor you speak of, I'm running injector dynamics injectors which I don't believe need resistors, so do I need this plug for anything period?

After what you said and doing some searching for pictures of the injector resistor box, this is without a doubt what this harness is meant for. So is anyone running it with aftermarket injectors still?

If your going to run low impedance(resistance) injectors than yes, if high impedance injectors than no......for injector resistor.

Low impedance is like 3ohms or so give or take, running those on stock ecu will burn out the drivers, thats why you would need resistor to increase the resistance, to where high impedance injectors are at which is about 14ohms. Thats all on stock ecu, stock I mean oem factory which can be chipped/reflashed to your mod spec.

Aftermarket EMS like Apexi PFC or Halteh or any alike should be able to handle both low and high impedance injectors.

Do you need the resistor for injectors, that depends on resistance of your injectors your going to use, measure them with DVOM or alike volt meter in Ohms setting/scale.

For example Rb20 injectors are high Impedance, Rb26 injectors are low Impedance hence why it uses a resistor (box), both harnesses can be easily moded to run both style injectors.

If you got high Impedance injectors ( which I doubt for aftermarket injectors), you can bypass the connector (I would source another male/female, to make this plug an play) and jump 6 injector wires to 1 wire which should be feed 12V I think.

If you got low Impedance---get Rb26 oem resistor box, new I think their somewhere around 130-150 USD, to make it nice and clean plug and play.... and I think stock in R32/33/34, box sits on firewall or right hand strut tower/fender. :slap:

And yes Im running resistor box on my Rb20 cause Im using Denso injectors, its a Rb26 resistor box works with out any problems, and you can use one off of any other cars that run resistor box as long as you can do 6 cylinders/injectors.

And you can verify that thats for injectors by testing wires (continuity test with volt meter) test both said connector to each individual injector terminal. And one of the 7 wires on that connector should go to ECU and run into one of the 2 relays by it.

OK so the Inector Dynamics injectors ARE high impedance injectors. I got a hold of Haltech (the ECU I'm using) to see the type of output that comes from their Platinum Pro ECU. They said it is switchable depending on the needs of the injectors. So I will be removing my injector resistor box.

As he said, and according to the R33 FSM, this can be done easily by taking the 6 injector wires that are running into the injector resistor box directly to a 12V source.

Thanks for everyones input.
