Soooo....ummm....to the gurus who know these engines like the back of their hand....

Which wires (from the wire splicing done during the swap) might have a problem that would allow an engine to turn over but NOT start at all?

This is a long shot but it is my latest idea. I see from the wiring guide that:

Main Ignition Power on KABlack / Red stripe

Ignition Relay on KAWhite / Purple stripe

...

I'll check these tomorrow during daylight, but I am wondering if the engine would turn over if there was a problem with either of these wires?? Or others?

me again ...

wires ... i connectet ....... the fuel pump relay (black pink wire)... the ecu memory... the ign relay... the ign powerand few other wires (carl H. guide) (ecept the black wire with yellow stripe/kannt find it ... got the ca harness)

i tha car i only connectet the orange wire to pin 43 of the rb20det ecu (ign start) for what reason is pin 45 ign???? ?

i checked ...... fuel pump is workin... ecu is workin (fuel pump runs at start)... starter runns

spark plugs ... there is no spark while holding the spark against the engine -.-"!!!!!!!

jeah .. there is no spark so tha engine doesnt start ... where could the problem be? ...

the engine shoult be ok, the power transistor also ... i think its the wiring inside the car ... but i dont get it ... do i have to connect all the grounds of the ecu (pin 10,20,50,60,30) ?

pls help! ..

ok i've said this before and no one seems to understand that cranking the motor does not mean a thing. here's what it means when your motor cranks when you turn the key to start:

1) you've connected that 8 gauge or so wire to the spade connector on the starter and to that one plug in the engine bay. congrats!2) you've connected your battery with the 2-4 gauge wire to the starter3) you've connected the ground of the battery to your motorset, either through the chassis ground or another wire.

yay, now sit there and crank it all day and pray it will start.

hey guys ... i got it ... it was the white wire with the purple stripe ... it goes to a green plug on the harness inside the car .... on the same plug a white wire with the same thickness ends. conneckt these both and it runns ....

this white wire goes direckt to the coil packs ...

His guide is for rb20 -> usdm 240sx.. im pretty sure that the 200sx is different in some forms..

But the lower harness shouldn't have to be modified.

If you have ecu memory, ecu power, ignition power and power to you fuel pump.. then it should start.

you r right ... i didnt need to modify anitching on the rb20 ecu plug ... but in the faq of carl h. he writes to connect the white purple wire with 12V ... but on my rb20det harness the white purple wire endet on a green plug .... so my ignition wasnt connectet to 12V ...

the wiring harness of the ka24 and the ca18 are nearly the same ....

best regards,chris
