hey everybody, i am doing a s13 rb20 swap and am kind of anxious to see how much horsepower i will be producing. With that being said i will explain what all i have done to it. I have the r31 nics rb20det engine(red cams), i have cxracing headers, cxracing radiator, flexalite dual fans, front mount intercooler from godspeed, greddy bov, greddy boost controller, greddy turbo timer, apexi neo afc, hks exhaust, tein suspension, ngk iridium spark plugs, and k&n air intake. I havent upgraded the turbo charger yet. With all that being said, if any of you could give me some sort of guestamation on how much horsepower i will be gettin I would appreciate it. Thanks guys!

Be careful with CX Racing. They are notorious for not providing the correct parts and blaming it on the warehouse.

turbo, injectors, maf, tune...somewhat formulaic but 300 is easy on the 20.

Ill be honest with you, the r31 rb20det is pretty much useless. Majority of the rb20 parts that are available (which is limited to start) will NOT work with the r31 ncis engine. That leaves you the expensive proposition of having everything custom fabbed. In my opinion the meager power you will get out of the r31 when its all said and done simply doesent justify the work and $$$$$$ your gonna have to dump into it. I would honestly just scrap the motor and start over with a proper r32 rb20det. Im not trying to be a troll or a hater, but instead just preparing you for the reality of the project that you have undertaken.

All i am wanting to get is 300 hp this will be a daily driver and i just want something quick and dependable im not tryin to make this car into a drag car or anything. Is 300 hp a desirable goal?

honestly to get 300rwhp out of the r31 is a stretch. The amount of time a $$ youll spend getting parts custom fabricated to accomplish that is tremendous. You may be able to squeeze 250 or so outa it with fuel system and turbo upgrade, but youll really be pushing the limits on a engine that is this old. Honestly I cant even think of any companies that make off the shelf parts for the r31 rb20det.

I had a redtop RB20 long block for the longest time. Even had the harness and ecu for it. The ecu didn't look anything like the R32 stuff but the rods looked the same tho. Intake sucked balls, I got that motor for free lol. Get a R32 RB20 and call it a day or just go right to a RB25.
