I want to use the skyline gauge cluster... so after some reading would it not be possible to pull the dash harness out of the skyline cap all unneeded plugs, and merely lay the skyline harness over my KA harness and extend where needed? Of course I would still follow the 8 step wiring as far as making it run. I just want all my guages to work and this to me seems like it might be hella easy. Thanks for all the help guys.

You'll probably have to do more wiring to get the other indicator lamps to work properly such as the parking brake, high beam, etc.

It maybe harder or easier, don't know. I say try it.

for got about those but i should be able to trace thos eindicators down pretty easy.... thinking about it now id have to tap the KA harness for highbeam indicator, turn signals, illumination, parking brake, and fuel level.... but water temp, tach, and speedo should be functional...

its easier just to snip off the plugs from the skyline dash harness, snip off the plugs from the ka dash harness, and trace each to what it needs to be and put them all together... and a LOT cleaner...

yes i read that thread jon however it really speaks nothing of how you did it.. did you cut your ka plugs and hard wire the skyline plugs in or did you lay the skyline harness in and splicce wires off the ka harness as needed?

ive done the r32 cluster conversion on my car.you will need to run the speedo cable into the car some how.i cut a small hole by the accelerator by the heater box, that way its clean but unobtrusive.as for the wiring bit i took the ka dash harness plugs and snipped the cluster connectors off and traced everything out and wired up the skyline cluster.you will have to run wires for the boost gauge and the oilpressure gauge.i have a short tech doc i wrote up on how to wire a s13 chassis car to run a late model (no rb20 on the timing cover) cluster.email me for info on it.
