Ok, so....

I'd love to start up on my 240 project but I think I may have a problem. There's 208K miles on the chassis, I was wondering if it was wise to have the chassis looked at because, I want a stable car that's safe to drive/race in. Otherwise there isn't any rust on the exterior (besides on the hatch)

Also, I heard that an RB26 swap was much more complictaed than an SR20 swap....and would cost more. And I would lose the use of speedometer/RPM gauge/Rev limiter or something.....idk the kid sounded like he was talking out of his ***, which is why I have come to the gurus.

I have a 91-93 240SX Hatchback

I would usually be a lot harder on you...but baseketball is a great ****ing movie, and Coop was an inspiration to us all...

If you have no reason to suspect anything is wrong with the chassis don't worry about it. 200k mi is nothing If you are going to be racing it you could get a cage and that would help a lot, but its not needed and not something you should be overly concerned with.

the RB is a little bit more involved, I have no idea what I am talking about...but I know it involves at least a modified cross member, and is definitely not going to be as straight forward as an SR.

The Nissan Online Mechanic section is really more of a place for help tracking down problems, the kinda stuff you would goto a mechanic for.

Check out the 240sx section, and notice we have a forum for each of the engines you are looking at...read through the stickies in each and you will get a ton of info, combine that with the handy search button and you should be able to find anything you would want to ask already answered pretty well in old threads.
