Ok so i'm trying to help a buddy of mine fix up his 89 240sx. It is in decent condition but i does need some work. I personally am new to the 240sx but not to Nissan. I have been trying to figure out a power window wiring issue for the last few days now and i'm truly stumped. The power windows all of a sudden just quit working (drivers AND passenger side). There is no power to the harness going into the door at all. Ive checked the fusible link in the fuse/relay box by the battery and it is good. All the fuses in the fuse box near the kickpanel are good as well. There is a black circuit breaker on that panel as well that i tested and seems good. (ohm meter goes to near zero). I'm baffled with this problem. Anyone run into anything like this? Some input would be much appreciated!

I am currently dealing with the same issue, except my seatbelts quit working as well. Check the fuse (bottom left, 2nd up) for continuity to ground with the key off. That's what my issue is but I loose ground when key is on, this is not a ground wire either. Could be a totally different issue but its a start. I'm sure I will be corrected if I am wrong but, i believe the grounds for these relays are in the engine bay, behind the driver headlight, on the fender. Happy Hunting.

Did you check the wires between door and door jam? Pretty common for those wires to break over time.

Fixed the problem! Had no power going to the wire going to the Circuit Breaker. (Blue and Red) traced the whole harness and found out when i took the drivers fender off the car has been in a collision and the wiring harness got slightly damaged. I guess over time it just corroded and shorted out. Found a break in the wire, fixed and re-taped it and now we are good! Thanks for the diagram nissangirl74, it helped a lot!

I think in your case it might be the circuit breaker itself. Round Black Relay looking thing on the side of the fuse panel near the deadpedal, in between a brown and a blue relay. Take an ohm meter and see if its showing any resistance. Should go to almost zero if its good.
