I need to know the thread pitch and size of the fitting on the power steering line that attaches to the rack. There are four of them. The one that I need the size to is the one with the 17mm head. I somehow stripped the fitting on the old one.

I have searched and looked through the FSM with no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

which line is it (17mm doesnt help since my car isnt with me right now). is it one of the shorter lines that run across the back of the rack or is it the main line that goes across the front and doubles back?

I believe it's the PS high pressure line. Theres two lines that loop around the engine, the return and the pressure. The pressure, I believe, has the larger fitting that goes on the rack. It is NOT one of the two that just go on the back of the rack.

Thanks, WC.

just a thought; take the old stripped line to napa and they should have what you need

also im guessing to get the old one off its like a brake line.

use a pipe cutting tool and cut a small section off and then attached the new fitting.

then reflare it.

Took the line to autozone AND napa. Tried different bolts with no avail. Apparently, the threads IN the rack are messed up as well as the fitting. I was looking for some sort of bolt to just go in there like so:

See the lower hole that I managed to get a bolt the same size in? I'm looking for a bolt to go into the larger hole BUT, the threads in the rack are messed up as well as the threads on the fitting so no real accurate measurement till I get my new rack. That's why I need to know the size and pitch of those threads.
