I have been searching for a good cell phone holder for my car. I haven't been able to find any threads or pictures with different phone mounts and wanted to get some opinions on what to get.

I have an Iphone 3Gs that I plug into my stereo as well as use it as a GPS while driving. Because of this, I have been thinking the best place to mount my phone would be next to the stereo more on the passenger side.

Here is the only picture I could find of the mounting location with a phone mount: Thanks to scrowley for the photo

So guys, feel free to give me input and post pictures of where you have your phone mounted/what kind of mount you are using.

Thanks Nico, I love you long time.

I'll bet Pepboys and Wal-mart has a few options, maybe they have ones you like?

I keep mine in the door handle.

As far as a place to put your phone, I'd get one of these.

Otherwise, if you want to actually mount it, I'd get something to clip to your vents. Anything you stick on the dash or have to drill for will probably tear up your dash.

^ Those things suck

I got a mount for my Iphone at bestbuy, forgot what brand. It's a suction cup mount and I put mine on the windsheild. It works great and stays secure for the Dynolicious and g-force app. The 240 is just my secondary fun car, I will track it once it's built.

I'm posting from my phone so I cant get a pic up rite now, mite be able to see it in my sig or one of my old threads.

Update:

I picked a phone mount, the Soundgate M2. http://www.logjamelectronics.com/soundm2.html
It seems like a pretty cool mount and it only cost me $20 shipped.

Ill write up a little review and take some photos when I receive it.

I don't need to mount my phone, but I do want to mount my iPod Touch. I plug it in to my radio for music and I currently just lay it on top of the ashtray. My idea is to buy a cheap iPod dock, remove the ashtray, and rig the dock to fit into the hole there. Should come out really nice and I won't have to bother with a cord anymore, just slide my iPod into the dock. That's a really nice mount though, I'm actually tempted to try it.

^ that works for a phone but if something is plugged in to play music or charge i'd rather not have it under my balls for ease of changing songs and not having the chord run all the way over there

Not bad, but I'm looking to have my iPod laying on it's back parallel to the center console if you know what I mean. I'll probably get it done sometime in the next few weeks. What did you use to fill in the hole where the astray was?

fiberglass and then bondo. i had the same thought about laying it down but it would only work if the device was at the very edge of the dock, since it isnt part of the dock would stick up and just be a weird hump. so i decided to do it the way i have now and the sock leans it back slightly so it isnt in the way of shifting at all

Lol, your a fool.
The ipod touch/iphone has a higher resolution screen then the Zune HD.

Also, HD is simply a marketing term. "High-definition" has been around since the 90s in CRT monitors and is simply any horizontal resolution over 720 pixels.

On another note, I just received my M2 mount. I will post up pictures after I install it later.

I own both (actually, my younger brother didn't want his anymore, so I traded my itouch 1g for his 1g zune).

Now that I have a iphone 3gs... I don't even use the zune. Actually, I'm literally using it as a paperweight for my bills so they don't fly off my desk haha... so yeah, it does serve a purpose in my household
