I just bought an Autometer boost gauge. I'm wondering where you guys that have a gauge, ran your wires and vaccum hose to? The wires that come with the bulb for this gauge are so short, i dont know where im going to get the power and ground from. And I also, dont know what the best path through the fire wall will be.

Anyone got some tips or pics?

Vacuum source can come from any solid source. Most will say tee the FPR vacuum line. If the wires are too short, you need to extend them obviously. You can drill a hole anywhere in the firewall, and use a suitable rubber grommet for a clean install.

For my vac source, I used the FPR line. As for the power to the light, I extended the wire and ran it to the ashtry light (only comes on when lights are on).Theres a screw right under the dash, its right next to the gas pedal... thats best I can really describe it. I used it for a ground.

Could just turn on the car so the turbo timer will come on and touch the ground to metal parts of the car until it comes on... not sure if thats safe but I dont see why not.

To run the vac line into the cabine, I cut a slit into the rubber that holds the trunk release and ran it through there, works fine.

Hmm... I thought they all had ashtray lights. The lights not actually in the ashtray, theres a small hole in the ashtray and theres a light that shines into the hole.

What you could do is run it to a constant source then go buy a switch for like three bucks. Run the line from the constant source (radio) then run the wire coming from the source to the switch then to the lights, so you just turn on the lights with the switch.
