I have already replaced the water pump, and thermostat. The car starts up and warms up to operating temp. It runs fine but keeps getting hotter and the temp gauge fluctuates between half way or higher. Steam/coolant begins to overflow out of the top of the coolant overflow tank...

Could an improper coolant/water ratio be causing all of the steam? I used primarily 70% water and 30% coolant because I ran out of coolant. Should I fill the car up with mostly coolant so it doesnt heat up so fast and just evaporate the water?

Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey. From my understanding it's the water that does most of the actual cooling. the 'coolant'/antifreeze part just prevents the mix from freezing under cold conditions and helps prevent corrosion.

Possible things to consider:

Radiator in bad shape/clogged?

Clutch fan/e-fan working?

Air pockets in the system?

Worst case: blown head gasket. This is what was wrong with my car when I first got it. Would run fine for around 30 minutes and eventually start showing the signs you mention. If your coolant is just 'disappearing' then this could be the cause.

thanks for the feedback

i'm starting to think i may need to replace the radiator. it looks kinda worn out (maybe original but im not sure)
the clutch fan is running strong. and i have no electric fans (maybe thats what i need)
i've tried bleeding the system many times and its still overheating
i need to do a compression test.... really hoping its not a blown head gasket
