I think my stock radio is going bad, so I'm trying to replace it. This is how it looks like on the back of my OEM radio/cassette player.

I was able to find one in good shape. The problem is faces look same, but backs are different. I believe this is a newer model. Is there way I can make this radio/cassette player work on my car? I'm sure there's got to be adaptors available. Please let me know. Thanks.

You need a radio that is from a 94 or older car. That one is from a 95 or newer.

That is correct. My car is 94 and the radio/cassette player that I'm trying to install is from 95 and up. I googled and found a store that sells a bunch of harness, so I just email and asked them about my situation and this is the reply.

"Hello, 1. Do you have the harness for the new radio you want to install?2. Is the radio wire harness in the car been cut? If you don't have the harness for the new radio then you can buy the harness from us and cut the wire on your car radio harness to install. If your car still has the radio connectors and you don't want to cut it then we can get you the harness that plugs into the car harness and the one that plugs into your new radio. The harness for the new radio is $25 and the one for the car is $12 plus $7 for shipping. Total is $44. We can connect both wire together for you so its plug and play when you recieve it. If you wan to purchase, go to our site, type 'payment' into the search bar, make a $44 payment and then we will process. Thanks."

My answers are:1. No2. No

He missed antenna adaptor. They are different, so I have to buy that one too. I wonder anyone on NICO has experience with this.

Well if you really want to put that in your car then you can get a 70-1763 and a 71-7550 to take care of all of it. You won't need an antenna adapter.

Thanks! I understand how it works now.

70-1763: The plug on my car goes to this one.

71-7550: This one goes to the 95 and up newer radio.

I have two more questions.

1. Are wires colors same on both plugs? Can I just connect wires in same colors?

2. These 2 holes are different. Isn't this for antenna?

Do I need something like this for antenna plug?

1. Yeah, just match them up.2. I might be forgetting a car or something, but as far as I know all Nissans use the same antenna plug.

Hi, I am going through the same thing right now with my '92 Vert. I am wondering how it worked out splicing the harness? Did you have extra wires not used on the 95 harness? Did all the other colors match up ok??

I just received them from http://installer.comI called them and ask about my situation before placing the order and they said wires match up by color not leaving any extra wires and it's true. They will work just fine.

What is going bad with your stock radio? I might want to buy it from you if you still have it for parts to fix mine Let me know what's wrong with it and how much you want for it.

When I'm driving with the CD player on, volume goes up and down by itself sometimes.
