How hard is it to install the Kouki style tail lights yourself? I have the complete kit from nissan. Is there any trickery involved or is it pretty straight forward.

I heard it just bolts right in place. I haven't done it but my friend did and it only took him a couple hours. They look really good.

bolts into place. Also has the butyl seals that should be replaced when changing the tail lights. If you're looking for a good install, have some lighter fluid around and a heat gun. Lighter fluid to clean off the old seals that will be left when you pull them off and the heat gun to ensure a good seal between the car and the new tail lights.

Yeah, make sure the new tail lamps are sealed real well - I have to redo my stupid seals again because I didn't do them properly the last time (no heat gun, sloppiness etc.) Butyl rubber is a pain in the arse to work with, it's like toxic black chewing gum. Make sure you have acetone or lighter fluid to clean it up with.

AFAK the conversion involves taking out the center garnish, both taillamps, and the lower garnish + lock mechanism (the new one is a different length than old one) and just bolting in the new parts. Really shouldn't take more than a few hours.

How much did you get the lights for, if you don't mind me asking?

The install is pretty straight forward with a little wire splicing. I would suggest getting some sillicon sealant to prevent water from leaking into your trunk.

Ya, how about the s13 taillights on the s14. That would look really good. I thought that or the skyline taillights.
