has anyone used megan bottom turbo manifold on a ka24de? i wanna know how much power did u get out of it and i check out some megan mani's but then it doesnt say the megan name on it. but then i gave megan company a call and they say they do make them but then dont put their name on it because they wanted to see how it ran on peoples car before they print their name on it.....

Well mine just came in the mail about a week ago and havnt bolted it up yet, but im using the t3/t4 top mount not the bottom. I called megan before and I must have talked with sum retard that works there cuz he told me that they dont make manifolds for the ka24de but then I messaged them and they said that they do make them but they dont badge them or anything yet. I have heard some good things about them so I think they should do the job pretty good.

I use the T2 bottom mount with a Garrett GT28RS .86 hotside...Making about 280-300 to the wheels maybe, but the T2 runs out of OOomph too early. You're definitely going to want to go with the top mount T3/T4 manifold. You may have to do some customizing to make everything work, but it'll be worth it in the long run. You'll end up wanting a bigger turbo in the end....trust me I'd be willing to sell my manifold, turbo, and dump pipe if you're only shooting for 300 whp MAX.. AIM or E-Mail/MSN me..

How reliable are these compared to ssac, or are they one in the same?

Wow (we're not going to put our name on it incase it is a pos so then we're not responsible). I was wondering why some vendors stopped using megan racing, thats kind of ****ty. Honestly I'd probably get the ssautochrome, alot of people have had good luck out of them lately. I think they got over all their problems. I had a set of Megan coilovers on my s13, I never had a problem out of them but if I would have known they won't put their name on something because they are unsure how it will do that kind of scares me.

Yeah, I forgot to mention my manifold is an SSAC one. If you put them side by side, they look damn near identical. But the new SSAC manifolds have more/better bracing now. But mine is still holding up fine, and I still haven't put in a flex bellow in my exhaust yet. But yeah, my bad. And if you read up on here. KATwo40 welded on a T3 flange on his T2 manifold, and called it a day. I think he ported it out to match the T3 flange on the inside though. Don't remember.

Yea I have trouble telling the 2 apart. How long has your ssac held up?

Mine has been in commission for a little over 2 years now. And like I said up there, I don't have a flex piece in my exhaust. So when the motor twists, so does the whole exhaust. No problems yet!

You can see a bit of it in my sig pic. I wrapped, and coated the wrap. You can touch it for a split second even after a 30 minute azzwhoopin' on the highway.

edited my post meant to say have, seems they last for low #'s so if you only plan under 12psi they tend to do alright. Anything over it's a hit or miss

The reason they hold up for those low numbers ding dong.... Is the fact they are a T2 flanged manifold, and the KA cant breathe enough to make anymore power than that. You can try it, but I'm telling you, it will turn your turbo into a fire breathing hair dryer.Unless you do as KATwo40 did.. Weld on a T3, and port it out to flow like a T3/4 should.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here...

A decent sized gt28 could make decent numbers.

Well my GT28RS ball bearing beauty with a .86 hotside is pretty big. And she is no longer efficient after 15psi on a 2.4L engine. It's not the size of the tubo really. It's the size of the exhaust flange that is on the turbo that restricts the flow of exhaust. I don't really want to get too technical. This thread is about the manifold, not what size turbo.

I wouldnt go as far to say that the turbine a/r is a limiting factor, you could easily upgrade to a 2876 and make more power.

Anywho, how long has your ssac/megan held up?

Lol, I'll have KATwo40's setup in a few days. I may make several changes to it, but I'll be sure to give you guys an idea with plenty of pictures to whatever I feel like doing myself.

Comes with the T2 bottom mount manifold, engine and turbo gaskets, and the hardware to mount the turbo to the manifold itself.

Check out the link in my sig.
